SAN FRANCISCO—Bio-Rad Laboratories Inc. has added some legal firepower in its court fight against former general counsel Sanford Wadler, who alleges he was unlawfully fired after blowing the whistle on what he says were corrupt dealings in China.

Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan partners John Potter, Karin Kramer and James Asperger filed notices of appearance on Tuesday in the dispute, which is being heard by U.S. Magistrate Judge Joseph Spero in San Francisco. Bio-Rad continues to be represented by its original lawyers at Latham & Watkins, partners Linda Inscoe and Robert Sims. The appearances came one day before a scheduled mediation between lawyers for both sides.
