George Riley, an O’Melveny & Myers partner who helped define Apple’s legal strategy and personally represented Steve Jobs, died June 8 of leukemia, leaving an indelible mark on the legal community from California to his hometown of Memphis.

Riley, who was 59 when he died, was the attorney who helped Jobs temporarily resettle in Memphis so Jobs could receive a liver transplant. Though he had other prominent tech clients, his relationship with Apple was unusually strong.
