Some IPR chickens are coming home to roost for Cisco Systems Inc., Verizon Communications Inc. and Avaya Inc., following losses at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

Nonpracticing entity Straight Path IP Group re-filed patent infringement suits against the telecom players in California and New York this month after several rounds of inter partes review ended with virtually all of Straight Path’s patent claims intact.
