SAN FRANCISCO — Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe did exactly as it predicted one year ago: it grew its top line. Gross revenue increased 4.1 percent to $913 million, though revenue per lawyer was up just 1 percent to $995,000.

Profits per equity partner surged 12.2 percent, mostly because the firm reported 13 fewer equity partners in 2015.
