When you ask Intuit vice president and deputy general counsel Anirma Gupta to name a high point in her career, you don’t get a list of cases, deals or clients. Instead, she offers a bit of personal discovery: “Realizing that I could be more than an IP attorney.” She rose from software patent attorney at Sun Microsystems to managing the entire patent team. At Intuit, her work goes beyond IP, as she also works on anti-piracy efforts, marketing, products and more.

She’s also a champion for women in the tech field: She’s a co-founder and board member of ChiPs, the nonprofit group started by seven women heads of intellectual property at major Silicon Valley companies.
