SAN FRANCISCO — The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit has revived an antitrust class action alleging Apple Inc. illegally locked early iPhone customers into service contracts with AT&T Mobility.

Ruling 2-1, the appellate panel held that Apple lawyers failed to show the case could not proceed without AT&T as a co-defendant. The Ninth Circuit reversed a trial court ruling dismissing the case and remanded it for further proceedings.
