SAN FRANCISCO — The California Women Lawyers bar association is launching a network for in-house counsel that organizers hope can help raise awareness about gender pay parity, career advancement and diversity representation.

Members of the new In-House Counsel Network include lawyers from Google Inc., The Clorox Co., VMWare Inc., The Gap Inc., LinkedIn Corp., Intel Corp. and Stanford University, organizers say. Multiple top lawyers at those companies, including VMWare general counsel Dawn Smith and Clorox general counsel Laura Stein, have vocally supported initiatives to support and advance women in law.
