SAN FRANCISCO — Francis Scarpulla, a nearly 50-year veteran of the San Francisco antitrust bar, has left Zelle Hofmann Voelbel & Mason to return to his own firm.

Scarpulla founded the Law Offices of Francis O. Scarpulla in 1970, and left in 2006 to join Zelle Hofmann. But he missed the independence of managing his own firm, he said, and made the move back Saturday.
