REDWOOD CITY — In the second day of a trial pitting a former Valley CEO against a New Jersey chip maker, the defense attacked plaintiff Lorenzo Salhi’s credibility Friday, trying to paint him as the failed partner in an acquisition deal gone bad.

Pamela Moore, a partner with McCarter & English, asked Salhi if he believed he was transparent during acquisition talks between his startup, Silicon Valley Solutions Inc., and her client, memory chip manufacturer PNY Technologies Inc.
