SAN FRANCISCO — NetApp Inc., the Sunnyvale-based data storage giant, has accused a rival of systematically poaching NetApp employees and encouraging some to make off with confidential files.
In a strongly worded suit filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, NetApp alleges that Nimble Storage Inc., a company run by a former NetApp executive, plundered its talent and its secrets in violation of the federal Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, as well as California’s Uniform Trade Secrets Act and Unfair Competition Law.
