A state appellate panel upheld one judge’s strategy for lessening the burden on budget-whacked state courts: Move the trial to France.

In an unpublished opinion Wednesday, the Sixth District Court of Appeal approved Monterey County Superior Court Judge Kay Kingsley’s 2011 decision to suspend a suit she expected to "contribute to congestion … especially in light of the recent, significant and unprecedented cuts made to the budget of the California state courts."
