SAN FRANCISCO — U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh is taking a wait-and-see approach on the first major question of how to implement a jury’s searing verdict against Samsung in its high-stakes patent showdown with Apple.

In an order issued late Monday, Koh wrote that she lacked jurisdiction to end a preliminary injunction that blocks importation and U.S. sales of Samsung’s Galaxy 10.1 tablet, because the matter is on appeal to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
