SACRAMENTO — The Judicial Council on Tuesday agreed unanimously to reassess 13 courthouse construction projects valued at $1.1 billion, but then got hung up by one Northern California court’s request for $292,000 in funding.

The council agreed with a committee’s recommendation, made April 13, that the branch needs to significantly cut costs for new bond-funded courthouses planned in El Centro (Imperial County); Inyo County; Delano and Mojave (both in Kern County); Eastlake, Glendale, Santa Clarita and Southeast Los Angeles (all in Los Angeles County); Ukiah (Mendocino County); South Monterey County; Nevada City (Nevada County); Hemet (Riverside County); and Santa Barbara (Santa Barbara County).
