SAN FRANCISCO — The Heller Ehrman estate’s litigation war chest is set to get a $3 million boost, thanks to a collections effort that’s moving more rapidly than expected.

With 61 adversary actions settled so far, the Heller estate has been able to recover about $34 million from third party claims and another $6 million from accounts receivable. That’s allowed it to approve a second distribution of funds to creditors just months after a previous payout, in addition to setting aside extra funds for litigation.
