In her new perch above San Francisco Superior Court’s Department 503, or the so-called asbestos department, Judge Teri Jackson seems comfortable. Though her assignment is brand new, colleagues say she’s fully up to the task of managing a grueling caseload of time-intensive matters.

“Any time I have a challenge I’m always excited, and I’m going to pull up my sleeves and do the best that I can,” said Jackson.
