SAN FRANCISCO — When there’s a hot gaming company up for sale, chances are Gibson Dunn is working behind the scenes.

Most recently, a team of Gibson Dunn attorneys represented social gaming startup Playdom in a deal that could be worth up to $763 million. The Walt Disney Company agreed to pay $563.2 million for the Mountain View-based Playdom on Tuesday, plus potential earn-outs of up to $200 million.
