SAN FRANCISCO A massive class action against manufacturers of computer memory chips has settled for $173 million.
Indications of a deal were apparent in February, when indirect purchasers of DRAM chips called off their appeal of an adverse district court ruling. But the plaintiffs — among them many state attorneys general, including California’s — announced the actual settlement figure today. The $173 million is on top of an earlier settlement with Samsung for roughly $113 million.
