Global law firm Ropes & Gray announced that 20 attorneys have been promoted to counsel, including Georgina Jones Suzuki of the firm’s Silicon Valley office, effective Nov. 1. Suzuki counsels clients in the life sciences and technology industries on technology transfer and licensing, collaborations, joint ventures and other strategic agreements. Her clients include public and private companies, academic institutions and investors, including global pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies and leading private equity funds. Suzuki’s experience working with both life science and technology companies, as well as her secondment with a global pharmaceutical company, also enables her to advise clients in the digital health space.

Farella Braun + Martel announced the addition of Benjamin R. Buchwalter as special counsel in its employment group. He has experience defending companies of all sizes in employment litigation, most recently, as an in-house employment attorney at San Francisco-based Plaid Inc. He also has experience defending companies in single-plaintiff and class and representative action lawsuits related to discrimination, retaliation, harassment, leaves of absence, wage and hour compliance, and requests for accommodations in federal and state courts and arbitrations and before administrative agencies.
