A nominee for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California faced questioning from lawmakers Wednesday regarding her affiliation with an Asian American legal organization and affirmative action.

During a hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, asked Eumi Lee about her being a board member of the Asian Law Caucus, which he said has supported affirmative action policies, in light of the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent decision rejecting the use of race as a factor in school admissions.
