As a former litigator who has transitioned to the field of workplace investigations, I often lean on my litigation skillset to conduct interviews. Many years of my litigation practice were spent in the Military Commissions Defense Organization (MCDO) practicing before a Military Commission in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. I belonged to a team of attorneys representing those accused of the Sept. 11 attacks. Not your typical courtroom and decidedly not your typical case, but there are insights to be gleaned from Guantanamo that can benefit any workplace investigator.
