The final Senate Judiciary nominations hearing of the 117th Congress put a focus on one of President Joe Biden’s highest-earning nominees, giving conservatives the chance to grill two private sector lawyers prior to what is believed to be their guaranteed confirmation, depending on the constraints of time and the Senate calendar.

Arun Subramanian, a former Ruth Bader Ginsburg clerk and partner at Susman Godfrey, is nominated for the Southern District of New York. His financial disclosure forms showed the member of the firm’s Executive Committee made nearly $16 million in 2020 and just over $9 million in 2021. That amount plummeted to just $200,000 in 2022.  The higher income years could be attributed to some high profile wins listed on his Senate Judiciary Questionnaire, made public Tuesday morning.
