Judge Alan Albright is diversifying his assets.

The nation’s busiest patent judge has been relying heavily on a former law clerk for technical assistance with claim construction hearings. Former Dechert associate Joshua Yi, a Ph.D. in electrical engineering, served as the court’s technical adviser in at least 29 separate matters during the first six months of 2021, billing the parties a combined total of $709,714.
