Los Angeles County Superior Court leaders said Thursday they will appeal state regulatory findings—and $25,250 in proposed fines—that determined the court failed to comply with COVID-19 workplace rules.

The citation and penalty notification, issued Wednesday by the Division of Occupational Safety and Health, alleges the court did not immediately notify the state that one of its employees was hospitalized with COVID-19 on Jan. 4. The filings also say court  supervisors did not enforce physical distancing in a court interpreters’ break room or provide COVID-19 prevention training to all interpreters.
