Gamers flooded a telephonic conference Monday asking a federal judge to “bring back” the mobile version of online game Fortnite and shouting out their YouTube channels during the first day of the antitrust trial between Epic Games Inc. and Apple Inc.

During the bench trial, which is expected to last several weeks in Oakland, California, Epic’s counsel from Cravath, Swaine & Moore and Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath seek to prove that Apple uses anti-competitive tactics to monopolize the iOS app distribution and in-app payment processing markets. Apple’s counsel, which has included several Big Law firms such as Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher and Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, allege that the “design choices” that Epic challenges are pro-competitive applications that protect consumer trust, security and privacy.
