Four California-based Sidley Austin attorneys were appointed to partnership within the firm, effective Jan. 1. The new partners are private equity lawyer Payom M. Pirahesh in Century City, commercial litigation and disputes lawyers Eric Schwartz and Collin P. Wedel in Los Angeles, and emerging companies and venture capital lawyer Sandi Knox in Palo Alto.

Meanwhile, Sidley is saying goodbye to Ted Chandler, who joined Baker Botts‘ intellectual property practice as a partner. Chandler represents clients in the technology and life sciences sectors in cases involving software, electronics and medical devices. He will work in Baker Botts’ San Francisco and Los Angeles offices.
