SACRAMENTO — The state senator who saw the governor veto all three of his drone-regulating bills this year is doubling down for 2016.

Sen. Ted Gaines, R-Roseville, announced this week that he plans to introduce six pieces of drone legislation when lawmakers return to Sacramento next month. Within the package are three bills shot down this fall by Gov. Jerry Brown. One would legally shield emergency responders who “damage” drones in the course of their work. The two others would bar drones from flying over in-session public schools and prisons.
