SACRAMENTO — The Legislature is scheduled to vote on a $117.5 million budget proposal Monday and send it to the governor. The document includes money for new judges—sort of.

You may remember that in recent weeks the Assembly, the Senate and the governor could not get on the same page about whether the 2015-16 spending plan should pay for new judicial positions. The Senate wanted up to a dozen additional judges, the governor wanted to wait and the Assembly was rather ambivalent.
