SAN FRANCISCO — Attorney General Kamala Harris took the first step toward painting her way out of a legal corner Wednesday.

The AG asked the Sacramento County Superior Court for a declaratory judgment that she need not prepare a title and summary for the so-called “Sodomite Suppression Act,” an Orange County lawyer’s proposed ballot initiative that calls for homosexuals to be executed.
