After two years as chair of the Assembly Human Services Committee, Mark Stone, D-Scotts Valley, takes the reins this year as Judiciary Committee chairman. He’s a tech-savvy attorney, who once worked at Apple Inc. and taught at the Naval Postgraduate School. He’s a veteran of the Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors who also happens to enjoy very long swims, including one that took 13 hours to complete.
