A judge has thrown out a lawsuit against the city of Philadelphia over the recently passed soda tax law, less than two weeks before the new law is set to take effect in the city.

In a Dec. 19 order, Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Judge Gary Glazer dismissed the complaint filed by a group of food and beverage retailers, distributors and consumers in Philadelphia, which alleged that the Philadelphia beverage tax is unlawful.
