The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee approved two judicial nominees for the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania for a full Senate vote, the final step before confirmation.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Susan Paradise Baxter and Butler County Court of Common Pleas Judge Marilyn Jean Horan were OK’d by the committee during an executive session Jan. 28. The committee skipped over two other pending nominees from Pennsylvania: Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Judge John Milton Younge, nominated to fill a seat on the Eastern District bench; and Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas Judge Robert John Colville for the Western District.
