Discord among the dozens of lawyers representing thousands of former NFL players in a suit against the league for head injuries was illustrated in the motion filed Tuesday seeking the data that underpins the recently reached settlement.

Earlier this month, U.S. District Judge Anita Brody of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania granted preliminary approval to a settlement agreed to by the National Football League and co-lead counsel for the plaintiffs. That deal garnered objectors within about a week of the announcement of its terms.
