Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young associate Maria J. Wing was accepted to the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity 2014 Fellows Program.

Wing focuses her practice on real estate, commercial finance and other general business matters. She also serves as a member of Stradley Ronon’s diversity group and associate business development committee.


Scott Etish, an associate in the business and commercial litigation department of Gibbons P.C., was elected to the board of directors of SquashSmarts, a nonprofit academic and athletic mentoring program for Philadelphia’s public school students.

At Gibbons, Etish’s practice is focused on complex business and commercial litigation in state and federal courts.


Martin LLC partners Joseph C. Huttemann and Alfred J. Carlson are set to present educational sessions at the 13th annual Workers’ Compensation Conference on June 2-3 at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center in Hershey, Pa.

Huttemann and Carlson will participate in “Mental Squared: Mental/Mental Injuries,” and Huttemann will co-present “Professional Employer Organizations (PEOs).”

Daniel J. McGravey, a partner with Pietragallo Gordon Alfano Bosick & Raspanti, along with Sarah R. Lavelle, a senior associate with the firm, presented “Managing Employees’ Bad Habits and Crafting Effective Wellness Programs” at the Pennsylvania Business Institute‘s annual Employment Law Institute held in Philadelphia.

The presentation discussed employee vices and bad habits, including substance abuse, smoking and obesity, and provided instruction on how to manage these issues without violating the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Family and Medical Leave Act.


Jay Levin, counsel at Reed Smith, spoke at the spring meeting for the American Bar Association‘s Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section’s property insurance law committee.

Levin is a member of the insurance recovery group in the firm’s Philadelphia office.


Kimberly Alford Rice facilitated a Lawmarketing.com webinar titled “Top Habits of Highly Successful Women Rainmakers.”

With nearly 25 years of experience, Rice trains law firms on how to generate greater profits with her methodologies of training and coaching.


Jennifer Brandt, a member of Cozen O’Connor‘s family law group, appeared on CNN Newsroom on May 1 to discuss Rochelle Sterling‘s battle with V. Stiviano and her reaction to Donald Sterling‘s lifetime ban from the NBA.


Blank Rome sponsored “Legal Advice Live” at the Free Library of Philadelphia‘s Ramonita de Rodriguez Branch.

The event, presented by the Young Lawyers Division of the Philadelphia Bar Association, kicked off Law Week 2014.

Four Blank Rome attorneys and two interpreters provided 15 clients with free legal assistance.


Wesley Payne, a partner at White and Williams, and Sophia Lee, chief counsel in litigation at Sunoco Inc., co-presidents of the Philadelphia Diversity Law Group, accepted the American Bar Association‘s Section of Litigation Diversity Leadership Award on behalf of the PDLG.

The PDLG was noted for its commitment to promoting full and equal participation in the legal profession through the encouragement and inclusion of diverse attorneys in its member law firms and corporate legal offices.
