A woman’s claims that her use of an antidepressant during pregnancy caused birth defects necessitating an abortion are barred by the statute of limitations, the state Superior Court has ruled.

On Nov. 27, a three-judge panel upheld the trial court’s ruling in Thomas v. SmithKline Beecham that GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) did not fraudulently conceal information about the U.S. Food and Drug Administration birth-defect risk classification of its drug Paxil from plaintiff Joanne Thomas.
