Delaware County has filed a complaint in federal court against Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and the Federal Housing Finance Agency, which oversees the now privately run mortgage giants.

Delaware County is bringing a class action on behalf of all 67 counties in Pennsylvania claiming that neither the Federal National Mortgage Association, commonly called Fannie Mae, nor the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corp., commonly called Freddie Mac, have paid real property transfer taxes to the counties.
