Because a transmission repairman was injured in a car accident while running a personal errand, an “auto business exclusion” in his insurance policy doesn’t apply, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit has ruled.

In making its ruling, the court said James Sweeney’s policy with Liberty Mutual Insurance doesn’t bar underinsured motorist coverage for his 2004 accident.
