On May 15, about 1,500 people participated in the 32nd Annual Philadelphia Bar Association Charity Run, which benefits the Support Center for Child Advocates.

The run started at 8:30 a.m. on Martin Luther King Drive, adjacent to the Philadelphia Art Museum, under a slight drizzle. The mild shower was far better than the overnight downpour that preceded the event. By 9 a.m. all of the drizzle had ceased and the big winners of the day were Pat Hayburn and Tina Morrison, both 26, who won the Open Competition. In the Bar Competition, Neill Clark of Berger & Montague finished first and Carmon Harvey of Montgomery McCracken Walker & Rhoads finished first among female members of the bar.
