Practice Profile: Barbieri is a management-side employment litigator who represents employers and high-level executives in connection with drafting and negotiating employment agreements, including restrictive covenants and severance packages.

Leadership Activity: At the firm, Barbieri has been both a hiring partner and chair of the recruitment committee since 2006. She is also a member of the diversity committee.

In addition to frequently lecturing and writing on employment matters, she is also the author of the firm’s FMLA blog, which discusses changes to the FMLA and tracks developments that employers and human resources professionals need to know to determine how the law will affect their businesses.

Pro Bono and Civic Work: Barbieri has handled child support and Social Security disability cases on behalf of clients of the Philadelphia Volunteers for the Indigent Program (VIP). In addition, as chair of the board of trustees of the Women’s Law Project, and a member of its litigation advisory committee, she is instrumental in the pro bono services provided by that nonprofit organization.

She is also active in the Federal Courts Committee and Women in the Profession Committee of the Philadelphia Bar Association.

Liam Y. Braber

Practice Profile: Braber practices general litigation and counsels clients in a wide variety of legal matters, including employment, construction, labor, election, injury, civil rights and commercial law.

Leadership Activity: Braber has served as the supervising attorney for the Lawyering Together program of Villanova University School of Law since 2005. The program partners Villanova Law students with alumni mentors to work on pro bono cases in Philadelphia.

Pro Bono and Civic Work: Braber’s pro bono work includes advocating for victims in civil liberties, immigration, juvenile advocacy and Social Security benefits issues, through nonprofit associations, including Philadelphia VIP and the public interest department at Villanova Law School. He has been recognized for his pro bono work by being named to the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Pro Bono

He has also served as an elections field attorney for Philadelphia Committee of Seventy since 2004 and as an American Civil Liberties Union cooperating attorney since 2006.
