As a program that places minority law students in summer intern positions with the judiciary enters its 10th year, it also enters Philadelphia for the first time.

The American Bar Association’s Section of Litigation has been placing interns in courthouses across the country for the last decade through its Judicial Intern Opportunity Program, or JIOP. Litigation section member and Drinker Biddle & Reath partner Lawrence J. Fox has been trying to bring the program to Philadelphia for at least the last five of those 10 years.
