A military veteran applying for a state civil service job can enjoy a veterans’ preference for a new appointment more than once in the course of his career, the Commonwealth Court has ruled in an opinion affirming its earlier decision on the matter.

The Pennsylvania Office of Administration asked the court to reconsider its decision last September in the case of an 24-year U.S. Army, Army Reserve and Pennsylvania National Guard veteran who was denied the benefit of 10 additional points on his civil service examination score.
