K&L Gates’ new Chicago office, created earlier this year when the firm merged with Bell Boyd & Lloyd, has lured its first group of Chicago laterals — from Kelley Drye & Warren. That move has cut Kelley Drye’s Chicago head count by about one-fourth.
K&L Gates said it hired a group of six lawyers from Kelley Drye — partners David Rammelt and Susan Greenspon, one counsel and three associates — who are mainly litigators. Rammelt, 45, and the junior lawyers have joined K&L Gates’ commercial dispute practice group, where they will focus on products liability matters, while Greenspon, 44, is joining the corporate practice.
