As other large Philadelphia law firms went through several attempts at finding the right chief marketing officer, Duane Morris was busy growing its marketing and business development functions under the eight-year tenure of CMO Edward Schechter.

His eight-year run was by far the longest term of a CMO in Philadelphia, where the average tenure seems to be about three years. But in two days, Duane Morris also will begin the process of filling a vacant CMO position.
