In 2014, Chugh joined Reed Smith as a staff attorney and immediately stood out for her persuasive writing and case management skills. She demonstrated an ease with legal analysis and client communications. She undertook pro bono adoption, name change, and federal prisoner’s rights cases. She soon became one of the first senior staff attorneys and set the standard, leading a team, while continuing to handle her own case load.

Chugh’s role grew when she became staff attorney manager in 2019, supervising the work of a staff attorney team and helping manage several portfolios of litigation of cases nationwide. In addition to her existing work, she set out to modernize portfolio management by enlisting the firm’s client value and knowledge management teams to develop and implement SharePoint applications to streamline processes. For one client, she developed a SharePoint to communicate research needs so that the attorneys and the in-house researchers’ work was driven by the common database as opposed to outdated spreadsheets.
