A federal judge has put the breaks on the U.S. Department of Justice’s lawsuit against Pennsylvania’s court system over alleged policies that denied individuals with opioid use disorder access to appropriate medication.

On Friday, U.S. District Judge Mitchell Goldberg of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania dismissed the DOJ’s complaint against the Unified Judicial System. Goldberg ruled that the plaintiff pleaded insufficient facts to state a claim, though he left open the opportunity for the DOJ to file an amended complaint.
