A heated custody dispute in a Philadelphia trial court led the Pennsylvania Superior Court to respond to “troubling” conduct by both the presiding judge and the mother’s counsel.

The court denied the mother’s challenges to Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas Judge Deborah D. Cianfrani’s courtroom procedure and said it ultimately discerned no error, but it also said it did not condone the court’s behavior.
