The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit has ruled that court-appointed receivers are immune from suit through quasi-judicial immunity, a precedential ruling putting the Third Circuit in line with other federal appellate courts across the country.

A three-judge panel consisting of Judges Joseph Greenaway, Cheryl Ann Krause and Stephanos Bibas in Trinh v. Fineman affirmed the lower court’s holding that David Fineman was immune from suit.
