A group of attorneys, including former federal prosecutors and retired partners at major law firms, are asking a state disciplinary panel to immediately suspend Rudy Giuliani‘s law license pending an investigation into the former New York City mayor’s thwarted effort to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election in favor of former President Donald Trump.

In a 21-page ethics complaint to a state attorney grievance panel, the nonpartisan organization Lawyers Defending American Democracy alleged that Giuliani “violated multiple provisions of the New York Rules of Professional Conduct” while representing Trump and the Trump campaign.
