A pair of Democratic state senators said they will introduce legislation prohibiting the printing of a 3-D firearm without a federal firearm manufacturing license and they would make 3-D printed firearms subject to the Uniform Firearm Act.

In a memo released by state Sens. Vincent Hughes, D-Philadelphia, and Wayne Fontana, D-Allegheny, they said without certain safeguards, 3-D printed firearms will be untraceable, undetectable and readily available.
