On Sept. 30, 2015, plaintiff Deborah Joers, 64, a nurse and hospital executive, was walking across Chestnut Street, at the intersection with South Juniper Street, in Center City, Philadelphia. She was in the crosswalk on the east side of the intersection when a car heading south on Juniper Street turned left onto Chestnut and struck her on the left side of her body.
