A school safety officer’s First Amendment suit alleging he was fired because he spoke to a television reporter in relation to a story about a student accused of burglary must be decided by a jury, a federal judge has ruled.

U.S. District Judge Eduardo C. Robreno of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania denied both school safety officer William N. LaTorre and defendant Downingtown Area School District’s motions for summary judgment because issues of fact remained.
